Resilience and Renewal: The Heart of Bushwick

At 10:45am, Pastor Esteven Cardona smelled smoke and quickly fire engulfed the church building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The pastor escaped unharmed, but the roof and steeple with its bell were destroyed. Firefighters warned that it could collapse. Everything in the church — pulpit, chairs, pews, musical instruments, etc. were destroyed.

The congregation of Iglesia Pentecostal Arca Cristiana is resolute and has plans to rebuild the church, and buy new musical instruments, and furniture.

The church meets in a building that is over a hundred years old at 1155 Halsey Street.
