FROM JOYCE THEATER–“GRACE,” A DANCE BY RONALD K. BROWN. A Journey to God in 30 minutes.
Ronald K. Brown is one of my favorite choreographers. His “Grace” is a spellbinding work with Brown’s unique blend of modern dance and West African movement styles. This special 20th Anniversary performance of “Grace” with all live music was commissioned and presented by the Fisher Center at Bard in July 2019. This video from The Joyce Theater will be allowed for streaming until Monday, April 6 at 7pm EST. This may be the best ever performance of this classic by Brown and his dance company EVIDENCE. Duke Ellington’s spiritual “Come Sunday,” Roy Davis Jr.’s club track “Gabriel” and the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti’s “Shakara.”
“Dear Lord of Love, God Almighty, God Above, please look down and see my people though.”
THIS EXCLUSIVE SHOWING OF “GRACE” IS OVER. HOPE YOU SAW IT!
