Members of the Buddhist Council of New York met with Mayor Eric Adams yesterday at City Hall. The gathering was facilitated by New York City’s Center for Faith and Community Partnerships.

The council was founded in 1985 as “an association of Buddhist Temples and organizations whose mission is to foster dialogue, cooperation and unity within the Buddhist community in the New York City area.” On September 17th, it held its annual Meditate NYC for peace and ending racism, Each year it commemorates the birth and the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Buddha. Over 59 Buddhist Centers belong to the council.
